Are they scarce or more desirable than the shorter barrel lengths? A friend of mine just bought one & wanted me to check before he cuts a few inches off the barrel.

Yikes! I wouldnt chop it! I think a 6.5 was the most common bbl. Length and 9.5 is much tougher to find. If its in good shape i would think he could come out money ahead by selling the 9.5 and buying a 6.5. All depending on condition of course.

Awesome revolvers by the way!

His gun do what whatever please's him.
The 9.5" are the least common.
There are those that prefer the long barreled guns.

Me... I turned my 9.5 into a Bisley, Brass Bisley nevertheless.

My gaggle of 32Magnums, I prefer the look of the fluted cylinder.

Should come out money ahead to sell and buy the shorter length he wants. I know where a pair of 6.5" guns are in my area. If he wants a 7.5" barrel, there are Single Sevens in that length also.

He can do what he wants, it is his gun but i would leave it be.

Thanks,

Thanks guys,
He just wanted to check & make sure it wasn't something really rare before he changed it to better suit his needs.

I wouldn't cut it either. I have a single six 32 H&R in 6.5 and it's a great gun, but I wouldn't cut down a 9.5 to make it 6.5. Sell it and find what you are looking for, they are out there...
