Several people have shown an interest in my SAAs and I don't want to step on anyone's toes, so I will start a new thread. When my mother died, I got a pretty good inheritance. Some went to remodel the kitchen and part went for other house repairs. My wife insisted that I spend at least half on myself because I had sold off some of my pieces over the years to pay for college, car repairs, etc. I started an "accumulation" (not quite a collection) of older Colts> I did get two third generation for SASS/CAS:
I had them re-blued to a storage accident, added pre-ban ivory grips, and aDe Santis rig. Matching knife with hippo ivory:
These were followed by a pair of Vaqueros for my wife's persona:
Then, a refinished Colt Bisley in .45 Colt:
A BBQ Gun in 41 Long Colt with real pearls:
Standard old 38-40:
A 32-20 (3rd Gen, I think):
Couldn't forget my "working guns". A Reeder "El Diablo: in 454Casull:
My OM Blackhawk in 45 Colt, with a Randal #23.A "porky" ate the knife handle on a Utah elk hunt, so both got new grips Packeda few mile in "griz country":
Almost forgot, a little belly gun I played with for concealed carry: A Sheriff'sModel3rd Genin 44 Spl.: Together with a couple of Colt Derringers and a custom knife made by my friend, Chuck Stapel (he made the Bowie for Quigley Down Under):
Also, a couple of OM Rugers (an OM 41 and an OM SBH. And, of course, some black powder in the form of a 2nd Gen Walker from Colt:
And, a couple of Old Army's:
Alas, hard times, and poor health caught up. I could no longer shoot CAS or hunt elk. Some went to life-long friends or o my daughter or granddaughters. I've retained or replaced some. I didn't include the long arms or "auto shuckers". Tried to control myself and I hope I didn't bore you too much!! Thanx for letting an old man reminisce!
Of course, there were long-arms to go with them:
