I'm missed something . Why a 10MM revolver when there is 10MM bottom feeders for fast reloading , and 41 mag and 38-40 already in revolvers which will the same job and a bunch cheaper that a custom gun .

Have a 3-inch S&W 686 .41Special conversion done by Bowen and love it. It's my third .41Special. One is a .357 FT with 4 digit SN, one is an anniiversary .357FT, and then there's the S&W 686. Wish Dixie had some more properly headstamped brass to get rid of now.

I can't speak for others, but as for me, the reason would be to have a carry gun in a revolver that would equal the ballistics of the .45 ACP in a frame that is smaller than that necessary for the venerable .45 ACP.

In an L frame or the GP100, the 10MM would fit nicely and be capable of full bore 10MM Auto loads and would be more easily concealed than an N frame gun.

I would opt for a fixed sight GP in 10MM with a 3" barrel and the hammer spur removed. I think it would be an excellent carry piece with a couple of extra moon clips instead of speed loaders.

And yes, I do have a 38/40 10MM convertible with a 6-1/2" barrel, but it is just not suitable for concealed carry. 8)

If you have to ask why, you wouldn't understand.

I sent my 4" GP to David back in November. I intend to shoot mine in USPSA/IPSC competition.

I sent my 3" Gp-100 stainless, 1/2 lug, to David in March of 2010. It was first intended to be a 10mm but I subsequently changed my mind to a 44 spec.

I am still waiting for it...

I shot every kind pistol matches with wheel guns and bottom feeders since 1968 and was always one of the top shooter and held alot of club records . I been a gunsmith and built 90% of my match guns and I don't see or understand why a 10MM wheel gun is needed . When a box stock bottom feeded in 10MM will beat you or 41 mag down loaded to 10MM spec and save $1500 ...

Who wants a bottom feeder???

The .41Mag doesn't fit in a six shot GP.

A GP needs only a rechambering ($150-$200) and reboring (another $150-$200) to become a 10mm. Which ain't $1500. Clements full package is $625-$675.

His big five-shot .44Spl package is only $1200.

Some of us want what we want because we want it and can't buy it. Saving money doesn't enter into the equation.
