Belt above your pants??? Try a belly band. That doesn't sound comfortable at all.Braces IS the answer.
My OWB carry is slightly different than most. I use braces (suspenders for those that don't know the lingo) to hold my pants up. Then, I carry my handgun, holstered but on a separate belt, just above my trousers. The suspended trousers prevent the holster belt from sliding down.
Works well for me. YMMV. DDTAHWPG. IANARD, BIPOOTV.
Shoulder rig.I have switched between the 1911, GP100 and SP101. Can't get really comfortable with anyone of them just yet. My expanding center section is causing pants sag and weight distribution is a problem. I am resisting braces----
Even if it works it sounds like it looks Extra Special. That's why I said, YMMV. Works well for me in spite of folks that say it can't work.
So wearing a pistol belt over your pants not above them. Still doesn't sound very discreet. This is the Concealed Carry Central page after all. I kinda picture this with a pistol belt around your belly. That's why I said, YMMV. Works well for me in spite of folks that say it can't work.
If it's good enough for Marshall Dillon...

Bob, did the Bisley grip live up to the hype?

Okay, it's not for you. You've made your point, again, and again. I heard you the first time.So wearing a pistol belt over your pants not above them. Still doesn't sound very discreet. This is the Concealed Carry Central page after all. I kinda picture this with a pistol belt around your belly.
Yeah the gun just rolls up in the hand. Much less control. Plowhandles have that edge front and back that engage the pinky and palm so you have more leverage over the gun.Not to me. It works for some folks, but was just the opposite for me. Whacked my knuckle with heavy loads, and was slower getting on target in rapid shooting. Ol' Sam's plow handle grip works best for me so long as the velocity stays around 1000 f.p.s.

I just kept trying to picture the outfit. Not to mention how any of these hoglegs fit into Concealed Carry unless you walk around in a Duster jacket. A Picture might have helped.Okay, it's not for you. You've made your point, again, and again. I heard you the first time.

Dang that sounds sweet. I should get some stag grips for my NM .45 colt Blackhawk to go with my Randall # 12As I've said before, my favorite woods walking outfit is a 45 Colt OM Blackhawk in an El Paso Tom Threeperson holster with a Randall Yukon Skinner with matching stag handles.
They're in their 80's and rode with Wyatt Earp back in the day. Where they live it's still normal to dress up like a cowboy. If they are accurate and able with their cowboy guns more power to them. I'm adapting in my 60's with red dot sights etc. I'm always trying to find ways to make my sights more visible and I have always had beyond 20/20 I could read signs a half mile down the road. I'm finally up to needing 2.0 for anything inside 4' and feel like I'm going blind. I practice at 25yds as well to make sure I'm not a danger to everyone around me. Who knows they might be able to fast draw and fan off precision shots from the hip at 50yds. I doubt I could use those sights quickly and effectively. Years of experience does make up for things sometimes.I am sure I will ruffle some feathers , but that's life on the trail.
Carrying a Blackhawk in an open top holster with no retention , might be just fine for walking down the sidewalk , going to a restaurant or hanging out in church.
The problem is , it wouldn't work for anyone that is half way active.
I believe there are much better guns out there for the concealed carry purpose , and much better options for holsters.
