The 30/30die problem is much better.I only sized 10 brass after i fired them. Cleaned the necks with a brush,, polished the ecpander that goes in the die,,lubed well. Had NO Scraping sound OR feeling.
I did feel a fair amount of resistance but felt like what i would expect from squeezing brass down.

Sounds like you done good in your new procedure. I think I'm safe saying that you will feel resistance when reloading cartridges. If you don't then somethings wrong (or your cartridges are expanding then contracting to the exact correct dimensions (which I have never seen that happen in all the years I have been reloading).

I used to be able to get carbide expander buttons, it may pay to look into one.

Gbappi where did you get thise expanders? Sounds lika great wY to go
Don't remember but it was likely from RCBS, or Lyman.

I looked it up and Lyman still offers one, for their die. If you don't have a Lyman die, it may pay to get one and a carbide expander or call your die maker to see if they offer one.
