Found and old can of AL-8 powder and would like to load it up into 38/357 or 44mag. If you happen to have an old book or published papers showing data, please let me know. I have done the same with AL-7 and used up 2 cans of it in 38 special. Hoping to do the same with this can of AL-8.

Looking for any data for 158gr SWC in 38, or any data for 200gr or 240 gr SWC in 44mag.

Lots of data for the Alcan powders in the older manuals. I don't believe that I ever saw an Alcan specific data book. Used Alcan for shotgun in the 1960's. If you list the bullet weight and type and caliber I'm sure data will appear here. Speer #9 covered Alcan well in their data pages.

The above posted data is from Speer #8 as noted. Number #8 has some very hot loads listed which were tamed down in Speer #9.
I tried many loads from #8 and learned to check other sources and start very low.
AL-8 is very close to Hercules Blue dot a magnum powder. I won't use BD for 38 special as it is not optimum for that round. Stick to .357's and 44 magnums and AL-8 should work ok. Be careful.
