Found a pretty good deal on a SR 1911 (5" barrel). Great shape, priced right. All that comes along with it are 2 Ruger magazines. I know the new SR pistols come with a box of stuff. No need for any of it. Question is...do they come from the factory in a hard (like plastic) box? This SR is used; trade in at the LGS. No box ain't a deal breaker but..I'd like to know. Thanks.

Good morning all.

My 2011 Ruger SR1911 Full Size model came with;
a white card board box, black fabric zipper pistol
case, Ruger lock, 7rd and 8rd stainless steel
magazines, bushing wrench, and owner's manual/pamphlets.

I would assume it comes the same way now.

Hope that helps. Good luck with your purchase.

My 2011 didn't come with a bushing wrench wonder if I call Ruger if I can get one.

My full size from 2015 came with the bushing wrench but the Lightweight Commander in 9mm did not.

yes, most likely that is the case of the current day, too many complained of the cheapo flimsy cardboard boxes...the new larger black/red plastic cases are the cats meow, I sell lots of them at the gun shows after I swap out the plastic formed liners for foam..;)

Adios Kimber. I still own a couple Kimber 1911s, but when the chance to swap out even for this SR1911-well, that was kind of a no brainer.
Should fit in well with the group. 3 Rugers, 2 Kimbers, and a Colt....
Maybe I should grab onto a Springfield one day.
