    Super RedHawk Front Sight

I'm okay with one front sight, not with the other. Have SRH in 44RM Alaskan, and a 7.5" 480 Ruger. Note in picture below how the 480 came with the reddish front sight, the Alaskan with the black. The Alaskan is much easier to see, while the reddish sight practically disappears while aiming...

    Ruger revolver for Bear hunting?

Yup. "Full power" doesn't resonate. "High power" means even less. Saw on another site where they used the term "standard weapon" in comparison to "high powered rifle." There is a lot of ignorance in this world and the gun world is not immune from it. A gun dictionary would seem to help...

    Not "Hunting"!

Never got the attraction of these canned "hunts." When it is just a matter of easily killing an animal for the simple sake of killing, that is the antithesis of sport and mental besides. If all you want is to get your jollies out of killing, join the army.

    480 Ruger / 475 Linebaugh

What the hell? 475 Ruger? That's a head scratcher, never heard of it before. Tried to find info on it and this is about best I could find... https://www.shootingillustrated.com/content/tech-wisdom-the-history-of-the-475-ruger-cartridge/

    Ruger revolver for Bear hunting?

Have not done bear hunting with a handgun, and kudos to those above who like that sport. That said, when it comes to the unpredictability of bears (some fall easily, some act as if they're indestructible*), my motto is you can never have too much in hand. My defense sidearm when hunting is...

    Lots of 480 Ruger Alaskans

FYI, one of the last ones (new) apparently available is showing on Guns.com. Price appears a bit high, but I guess if it's the last one...

    480 Ruger / 475 Linebaugh

FYI, saw some Buffalo Bore ammo in 475 Linebaugh on the shelf at a small town LGS couple weeks ago. Of course, the cost was in the stratosphere so I passed on it. Rolling my own works fine anyway. Still, kind of heartening to see it in stock after such a long absence. Didn't see 480 Ruger...

    .480's in a .475

Yes, I regularly shot 480 out of a 475 (FA P83) because until somewhat recently didn't have a 480 SRH. No consequent dirtiness problems in the 475 that I ever noticed. The difference in cartridge length is relatively minor (given the cartridge sizes), just .115 inch, so that may be why.

480 Ruger Brass Available at Midway!

Just checked and still available. FYI, that is Starline brass and cost is $137.48 for 200 with shipping (before tax), or roughly 69¢ each. I got mine about three years ago and Starline was the only one available then as well. This should be especially helpful for HW11 and gnappi who have been...

    Ruger rifles I want.

You and I want the exact same thing, Joe. I've even thought about buying a new Ruger Hawkeye Hunter in .308 Win just so I could rebarrel it in 358. That would make a lovely gun. Expensive way to go, but what the hell, just might do it.

    MO share the Harvest

Good cause multiplied by good people equals good outcomes for society. And no greed or "incentives" required. Good for Missouri.

What made you a Ruger rifle fan?

My first Ruger was an American rifle in .308. Run of the mill rifle performed well, but did not make me a Ruger fan. Then I picked up a Hawkeye Guide Gun in 338WM with iron sights, added Alaskan quick detachable mounts. That one made me a fan. Love that gun.
