Yup. "Full power" doesn't resonate. "High power" means even less. Saw on another site where they used the term "standard weapon" in comparison to "high powered rifle." There is a lot of ignorance in this world and the gun world is not immune from it. A gun dictionary would seem to help...

Yes, I regularly shot 480 out of a 475 (FA P83) because until somewhat recently didn't have a 480 SRH. No consequent dirtiness problems in the 475 that I ever noticed. The difference in cartridge length is relatively minor (given the cartridge sizes), just .115 inch, so that may be why.

My first Ruger was an American rifle in .308. Run of the mill rifle performed well, but did not make me a Ruger fan. Then I picked up a Hawkeye Guide Gun in 338WM with iron sights, added Alaskan quick detachable mounts. That one made me a fan. Love that gun.
