My wife and I have had 6 pets over the years. Our last two died about 4 years ago. Both were aged and ill. One insisted on being with me as he was dying holding on to me with his paw. He stayed all night snuggled next to me and passed in the morning. The other one made it another year, but was finally in so much pain that we had her euthanized.
I still don't think I can do it anymore. They always make you fall in love with them and they adore you.

I am sorry that you have such sorrow. I know that they will always be in your heart.

Beautiful girl. I pray you can be thankful for time you Did have her and that that will soften some of the grief. If you had never had her you wouldn't be dealing with this pain now; but you would be so much poorer now.
If this is too "preachy"; I'm sorry, but I am praying for you. Hang in there.

Yeah, that's a tough spot. Last month we lost the younger of two female LGD due to whelping difficulties. This dog was not a pet but was as amiable as LGDs get. She was good at her job and devoted to her task in life.

So sorry to hear of your loss.

Only a dog person may understand this, I'm more distressed over a dog dying than people.

I'm so sorry for your loss. The hurt of losing your dog is hard to overcome. It's been just over 4 years since we lost our beloved Jessie and it still brings tears to my eyes. I have often said that it's only fitting that the loss hurts so bad because the love was so strong.

Our Jessie, RIP. Till we meet again…

To love a pet & then feel heartfelt loss & pain shows a compassionate heart. We as humans often adopt a pet to give us companionship,, yet they most often give us so much more.
I have a good friend who lost his dog of 16 years just a few days ago as well.

Heartbroken is a good way to describe things.

I too offer my sympathies for your loss. You obviously are a caring & compassionate person.
