Another one of these comparisons: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/opin...n&cvid=996a082dd3f54583b92e3b985ccb4f69&ei=22

I have four 9mm pistols and one 9mm carbine compared to one 40S&W pistol so it's safe to assume that I favor the 9mm in this comparison. I gave the 40 S&W a fair chance and had three other 40 S&W pistols before my current S&W CS40. I do like the round. I shoot it out of my two S&W 610's using moon clips and it gives me pretty much the same accuracy as 10mmfor about 1/3 less.

I am a self confessed Glock Fanboy. I traded P89? Ruger and $50 for a as new G23. First Glock I ever had. Still hav that 23. Hav slew 9mm Glocks. But that 23 has never jammed. Just don't want anymore 40's. Anything 9 will do, 40 has potential doing little more better with lil more recoil and lil less magazine capacity

Last year, I picked up some .45 GAP brass for next to nothing. Figure I'll load it up to use in moon clips in a .45 revolver!
:)
I knew a couple of people who picked up the pistols and a case of ammo knowing it would all but become a niche cartridge with the idea of someday it may be like the Edsel. They said both pistol and ammo were very good, but just never caught on.

I have a special fondness for .40. I still have my old P944 & a M&P 2.0 40 Compact. I find myself carrying 9mm more though because of the convenience of smaller pistols. Ammunition prices for .40 have went insane. It wasn't that long ago there was only about a $2 difference between a 50 round box of .40 & a box of 9. Now it is more like a $10 difference.

my favorite handgun caliber is .45acp and I do like the economy of the 9mm

but when I need to scratch my .40s&w itch, I'm covered ;)

and I love popcorn in any caliber! 😁

btw, both glocks and the black grip sig are LE turn-ins. the p226 was carried by a good friend of mine in our local PD, we also served in coastal warfare together. one of the g23 was Mrs. Bee's first dept. issue, the other from another officer. I carried the wood grip sig on my ccw for about 5yrs.

all great guns - no complaints!

People, of course the .40 S(hort) & W(eak) is better. We all know that any cartridge over 100 years old can no longer be relied on to kill it's intended target. Why the 30-30 and the 45-70 are so old that they don't even qualify as mouse guns anymore. So, the 9mm and the .45 acp both being past the century mark will have absolutely no effect on targets. They just bounce off.
