I removed the M-Loc forend off my new 9mm PC carbine yesterday to install a hand stop. An issue came up I was not expecting.
The four 1/8" inch Allen screws holding the forend on were horrifically tight.
I had a good quality T handle Allen wrench which was twisting but did the job. All four came loose with a very sharp, scary snap.
Tightened by King Kong was my initial thought but then I found evidence of what appeared to be RED Loctite ???
Why would they use that stuff on a part meant to be removed ?
I was surprised to find the barrel to be fluted and it and all steel parts there in need of a serious wipedown to clean and protect them.
Any similar experiences out there ?
