My Dad was a pipeliner and worked with a lot of Cajuns. They were good people and hard workers. Some of what they ate was questionable.... The crockpot was always filled with something that they found on the job or along the road. It was a delight to hear them talk and they were great welders. One of them kept a Colt Python .357 Magnum in a gun rug in his welding rig. Another had a prewar Colt Woodsman Sport. Both handguns were well used but in great shape.

McDermott's very large construction yard for fabrication of offshore Jackets and Decks was located in Morgan City/Amelia LA. Since it is South of I-10 there were quite a few Cajuns working there. Some were from way down the Bayou and could barely speak English. Yes they were outstanding craftsmen. I enjoyed working and playing with all of them. The Cajun Women were also great and had a good sense of humor.
