The eclipse is underway here in Texas. I have been noting the progress. A few days ago I found a bottle of wine "Spellbound, the Eclipse", a California Petit Syrah. I have been having a taste as I check on the progress. An enjoyable wine, a cool event, it don't get much better than this.

It was total coverage here, and quite amazing. I can understand how the ancients would have been so impacted.

It's over now - all the flatlanders can go home!

Geez, I went into town late morning and the traffic of out of state plates going north was rough! My 5-6 minute trip turned into 25-30. We were in totality with only some thin high clouds. Awesome!!!

It was 62 degrees and warm in the sun but when the sun went away, we got a bit chilly sitting in the shade.

Sun is fairly far back out now.

Completely overcast and spitting rain here in the Houston area. It did get pretty dark for a few minutes, but that's about it. Couldn't even see the sun.

I was at work. I spent the day on the roof. We did not get totality. I didn't notice things getting darker at all. I did pull some welding hoods with a #10 lens out & leave them where the kids could get to them. They seemed to have fun looking at it.

Totality here in NW Ohio. You could feel the temperature drop and the wind die down as it approached totality. The security light on my barn turned on. Very quiet and eerie.
Dropped 10 degrees here in CLE in almost an instant …. Kinda reminds one that should the Sun "go out", we have very little time to say our "I love you's" and "goodbyes", cuz we be done right quick.

......went out on the back deck about 10 minutes after 3pm and sat there with the my dog Chloe, and could see the shadow coming from the north, north west and when it got totally dark at 3:14, Laura came out said the kitchen inside was almost orange?? and it was totally dark outside we could lookup and see the moon had covered the sun completely, did not need or use any googles or special glasses, and it was an awesome, almost a 'spiritual' 4 minutes and the upper right corner of the moon lit up like a diamond ring ring and we all hugged and went back inside, did I say "awesome"?? wow, and the next one is in a bit over 400 hundred years in my back yard....;)(y)(y)(y)
