Help me find the missing link...my Blackhawk Bisley Collection

Hi all,

Recently I've gone down the rabbit hole of searching for 5.5" stainless Bisley gripped Blackhawks. It all started last year with a Bisley 45LC/45ACP convertible. Since then I stumbled into a 4.68" 44 Special, lucked out on a .41 Magnum, and recently won a .357 mag on GB. The one I'm missing is the 5.5" 44 magnum catalog number 0877. I think that would complete this little stable, however if you are aware of other stainless Bisley Blackhawks preferably with 5.5" barrels, please clue me in.

Wonderful collection.

I wish Ruger had made a .38 Special Bisley (or any .38 Special single action), but I don't think they did.

The 44 Magnum "was" only sold thru AccuSport back when the 5.5" Bisley was introduced.
I don't know the quantity produced, a few years back it was discussed and the consensus was only 1 run production on the 44M. Maybe the collectors will chime in.

I did the same thing as you, had one of each, 45/45acp, 44M, 41 & 357.
Sold the 44M for a ridiculous amount of money, (2X what I paid for it)
Didn't really care for the 357, too heavy.
Love my 41.

Sold my 45/45acp, regretted it ,,, and got to buy it back a few years later…

Now for the good news AND not so good news,,, Lipseys announced that they are going to bring them back in 44M,
The not so good news,,, haven't seen any yet.

Why the 4-5/8" .44 Special instead of the 5-1/2"? 5249 and 5250 are the model numbers, I believe.

ETA: sure wish Ruger had done a run of the mid-frame .357s with a Bisley grip.

That's the model 0877 that I want. I didn't realize they're not in production yet. I've seen it on Ruger's dealer exclusive page and figured it was from some time back.

Because 44 special flattops are hard to find, much less in stainless with a Bisley grip. I walked into a small gun shop and asked if they had any big bore Blackhawks. Guy walks out and said, "I got two of these today", and there they were. Yes...I'd prefer 5.5" but I wasn't about to pass up a NIB 44 Special. And, given the flattop the shorter barrel balances very well. That said, if I ever see a 5250, I'm buying it!

FWIW: My 44M SN# was 87-5228X, Shipped in 2002. Paid $550, and sold it in 2012 for $1150.
Today $1150 seems fair, but in 2012 it was enough to separate me from it…

So yes they are out there, but finding one of the "ACCUSPORT" guns is the only current today option,,,
Easy way to spot one is the "Lawyer warning" is on the side of the barrel.
My .41 has had the Lawyer Warning removed, a popular thing to do at the time.

WAITING on Ruger / Lipsey's to produce / distribute the current announcement.

WARNING!!!

Be very careful with the 5.5" Stainless Bisley.
They can be addictive ,,, and then one needs a 480R & 454C and build them with Octagon Barrels…

There was also a 45 Colt only model. It was the first of all the 5.5" SS Bisley models. No collection would be complete without it.

They were already in production with 2022 ship dates and didn't last long.

Lipseys brought out the 5.5" and a 4 5/8" stainless Bisley with adjustable sights in 44 mag

I ended up getting two of the 4 5/8" because I already have the 5.5".

The 4 5/8 SKUl# is 00876.

Oh yea, Don't forget about the 3.5" stainless bisley 44 mag - might as well look for one of those too.
