Welcome to the forum. (y)

I think the SFAR does have 4 settings. 0, 1, 2, and 3.
You should shoot it before asking Ruger to send you a new regulator.

I understand that, Ruger updated the regulator, so it would just be nice to have both options available to me.
And it just seems like it would be a good idea to have a regulator with more settings. The aftermarket adjustable gas blocks I've looked at some have 15 different settings.
More settings in sizes between the stock 2 and 3 would likely be beneficial.

Say there was a second regulator that had settings of 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, 2.85
four additional settings for fine tuning. Obviously those number only reference the numbers stamped on the regulator. Idk what the actual hole sizes are but you get the idea.

I am now over 300rds breakin and still cannot get to #2 gas block setting without problems. Has anyone reading this thread been able to get a .308 SFAR to operate consistently at the #2 gas setting as recommended by Ruger? Does the 20" SFAR do better than the 16".
Use a VTLOR A5 buffer tube/system.I put a mag a day of milsurp through my 16" on #2,......consistent 3-3:30 eject
